Free forever tier

A trading journal that is actually free

Not a trial. Not fifty trades then a paywall. The journal, the import, the dashboard, and the reports cost nothing and stay that way.

What "free" usually means

Most trading journals advertise a free plan and mean one of three things: a two-week trial, a cap of twenty or fifty trades, or a dashboard with the useful numbers greyed out. You find out which after you have imported six months of history.

Here is what the free tier includes, in full:

  • Unlimited trades. No monthly cap, no archive limit.
  • CSV import from any broker, with a column mapper for exports we have never seen.
  • Stocks, ETFs, options with strike and expiry, forex, futures, and crypto.
  • The full dashboard: profit factor, expectancy, drawdown, payoff ratio, streaks, and break-even win rate.
  • Breakdowns by setup, mistake, weekday, hour, instrument, direction, and hold time.
  • Calendar view, equity curve, R-distribution, and the month-by-month chart.
  • Chart screenshots attached to entries and exits.
  • PDF performance reports and a full JSON export.
  • Private cloud sync across your devices.

What costs money is the AI coaching, the AI agents, and automatic exchange sync. Those have a real per-request cost, so they sit behind a plan. The journal itself does not, and never will.

Why give the journal away

Because a journal is only useful once it has a few hundred trades in it, and nobody builds that history inside a trial. A tool that deletes your record when the countdown ends was never going to help you.

What a journal is actually for

Not record-keeping. Your broker already has your fills. A journal exists to capture the part the broker does not see: what you intended, what you risked, why you exited, and which rule you broke.

That is why the fields that matter here are planned risk against actual risk, the setup name, and the mistake tag. After fifty trades those three columns tell you something no P/L statement can — that one setup is carrying the account and one hour of the day is quietly draining it.

Getting started takes about ten minutes

  1. Make an account. Email and password, no card.
  2. Export a CSV from your broker and drop it in. Match the columns once; it remembers your broker's layout.
  3. Tag the setups and mistakes on your last twenty trades.
  4. Open the dashboard and look at the hour-of-day breakdown first. That is where most people find their leak.

Questions

Is the free trading journal really unlimited?

Yes. There is no cap on trades, no archive limit, and no expiry date. The free tier includes the full journal, CSV import, the complete performance dashboard, PDF reports, and cloud sync.

Do I need a credit card to sign up?

No. The free tier never asks for one. A card is only involved if you choose to add AI coaching or exchange sync later.

What is not free?

AI coaching, AI agents, and automatic crypto exchange sync. Those cost money to run per request, so they need a plan. Everything else is free.

Can I export my data if I leave?

At any time, as a full JSON backup or a PDF report. Nothing is held hostage.

Start with your last twenty trades

Import them, tag the setups and the mistakes, and look at the hour-of-day breakdown. Ten minutes, no card.
